Minnesota Twins right-hander Pablo Lopez went on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right hamstring strain.
The move is retroactive to Wednesday for Lopez, who was removed from Tuesday’s start at Kansas City in the fifth inning due to the injury.
Lopez, 29, is 1-1 with a 1.62 ERA through three starts, striking out 14 and walking two batters in 16 2/3 innings.
The former All-Star is 55-50 with a 3.86 ERA in 161 games (all starts) with the Miami Marlins (2018-22) and Twins.
Minnesota recalled right-hander David Festa, 25, from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move.
Festa will start Friday’s series opener against the Detroit Tigers in Minneapolis. As a rookie with the Twins in 2024, he went 2-6 with a 4.90 ERA in 14 games (13 starts).
