The Los Angeles Dodgers put starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow on the 15-day injured list Monday, one day after he lasted just one inning before being pulled with right shoulder discomfort.
The Dodgers said Glasnow was diagnosed with shoulder inflammation. The team recalled right-hander Noah Davis from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.
It was Glasnow’s second consecutive start the Dodgers have cut short. He experienced leg cramps in a matchup against the Texas Rangers on April 20.
In the first inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Glasnow allowed a pair of solo home runs and also walked a batter.
Glasnow warmed up before the start of the second inning before Roberts came to the mound with a team trainer. The right-hander walked back to the locker room after a short conversation and was replaced by right-hander Ben Casparius.
In five starts this season, Glasnow, who signed a five-year, $136.5 million contract in 2024, is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA, a 1.278 WHIP and 23 strikeouts. In his first season with the Dodgers, Glasnow made his first All-Star appearance and finished 9-6 with a 3.49 ERA, a 0.948 WHIP and 168 strikeouts. However, he missed Los Angeles’ run to the World Series title during the postseason because of an elbow sprain.
Over his 10-year career with Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Los Angeles, Glasnow, 31, owns a 40-33 record with a 3.83 ERA.
Davis, 28, appeared in three games out of the bullpen for the Dodgers earlier this season and went 0-1 with a 10.13 ERA. He spent the previous three seasons with the Colorado Rockies.
