Washington Mystics forward Aaliyah Edwards has been diagnosed with a low-back contusion and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, the team announced Thursday.
Edwards, 22, averaged 7.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 34 games (17 starts) in 2024 during her rookie season. She was the sixth overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft out of UConn.
Edwards defeated former league MVP Breanna Stewart before falling to Napheesa Collier in the deciding game of the best-of-three final of the Unrivaled one-on-one tournament in February. Edwards claimed $50,000 as runner-up.
