Lightning in the area prompted a suspension of play Friday morning at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
The PGA Tour halted play in the second round at 9:46 a.m. at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. The delay lasted six hours and 15 minutes before play resumed, making it unlikely that the second round will finish until Saturday.
First-round leader Scottie Scheffler was 2 under through nine holes and 12 under for the tournament when play was interrupted.
Starting on the back nine, Scheffler eagled the par-5 18th to move two shots clear of Jhonattan Vegas of Venezuela.
Preferred lies are in effect for the second round with thunderstorms in the forecast all day Friday.
