The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated star second baseman Ketel Marte from the 10-day injured list on Friday.
Marte had been sidelined since injuring his left hamstring while running out a double in Arizona’s game against the Washington Nationals on April 4.
Marte, who signed a six-year, $116.5 million contract extension, missed time last season with ankle and back injuries that limited him to 136 games. He still finished third in NL MVP voting.
A two-time All-Star, Marte missed time with hamstring injuries in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
Marte, 31, is batting .346 (9-for-26) with one RBI and six runs in eight games this season.
He is a career .281 hitter with 143 homers and 516 RBIs in 1,112 games with the Seattle Mariners (2015-16) and Diamondbacks.
The Diamondbacks optioned outfielder Jorge Barrosa to Triple-A Reno after Thursday’s 4-2 win over the host New York Mets.
