Alabama forward Derrion Reid revealed Monday that he is transferring to Oklahoma.
Reid, 6-feet-8, 220 pounds, was a five-star high school recruit and McDonald’s All-American in the Class of 2024. He made three starts as a freshman, including the first two games of the season, but mostly played a role off the bench in 24 games for the Crimson Tide.
Reid averaged 6.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game. In Alabama’s four NCAA Tournament games, he had 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field.
Oklahoma, which went 20-14 last season and lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, has also added Miami guard Nijel Pack (13.9 ppg last season), Notre Dame forward Tae Davis (15.1) and Saint Joseph’s guard Xzayvier Brown (17.6) out of the portal this cycle.
