Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey was injured midway through the first period of his team’s Game 7 clash against the St. Louis Blues.
Morrissey was on the receiving end of a hard check from Oskar Sundqvist at the five-minute mark of the clash, and slowly made his way to the bench where he conferred with the medical staff.
Morrissey had another shift, which ended when the Blues took a 2-0 lead, and he headed to the dressing room.
He did not return in the second period, and the Jets announced before the start of the third period that he would not return for the rest of the game.
Morrissey has collected three assists in the series.
The Jets, who finished atop the league standings, were already without veteran forward Mark Scheifele, who was injured in Game 5.
