The International Olympic Committee on Tuesday approved more venues for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, including an additional nine events that will take place in the L.A. city limits.

The nearby cities of Anaheim, Arcadia, Carson, Long Beach, Pomona, San Clements and South El Monte were either added or named to host additional events. Tuesday’s announced venues join a number of others that already were confirmed.

The San Fernando Valley’s Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area was named as a location for 3×3 basketball and modern pentathlon. It was previously named as the location for BMX and skateboard competitions.

Dodger Stadium will welcome the return of baseball to the Olympics schedule, while boxing preliminary competitions will be contested at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles before moving across the street to Crypto.com Arena closer to the medal competitions.

The cycling road race and marathon both will start at Venice Beach, west of downtown, while the finishing locations of both events will be announced at a later date. Venice Beach also will be the host for the triathlon.

Rhythmic gymnastics will take place at Southern California’s Galen Center, while squash will be contested at Universal Studios on the amusement park lot.

Archery was added to competitions being contested at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, home of MLS’ Los Angeles Galaxy. Beach volleyball, coastal rowing, target shooting and sport climbing all will take place in Long Beach.

Anaheim’s Honda Center, home of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks will host volleyball, while Arcadia’s Santa Anita Park will host the equestrian competition.

Cricket will make its Olympic debut at the Fairgrounds in Pomona, home of the annual Los Angeles County Fair, while surfing will take place at Trestles Beach in San Clemente and the shotgun shooting competition takes up residence in South El Monte.

Among the venues previously named to host events were SoFi Stadium (swimming, opening ceremonies), Dignity Health Sports Park (rugby, tennis), Long Beach Convention Center (water polo), Los Angeles Coliseum (track and field) and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena (soccer medal rounds). Softball and canoe slalom will take place in Oklahoma City.
