Sean Zawadzki scored off a corner kick in the third minute of second-half stoppage time to rally the Columbus Crew to a 2-2 draw with the host Philadelphia Union on Saturday.
Zawadzki was at the far post to put in a flick by Diego Rossi with less than 30 seconds to play. Dylan Chambost picked up his second assist for the Crew (7-1-4, 25 points), who are 5-1-1 in the past seven matches.
Frankie Westfield scored his first MLS goal to put the Union (7-3-2, 23 points) up 2-1 in the 64th minute. Tai Baribo had a goal and an assist for Philadelphia, which had won its last three matches.
Baribo scored in the 45th minute but Max Arfsten tied it in the 61st before the Union quickly responded on the counter. Danley Jean Jacques dribbled deep in the box and drew goalkeeper Patrick Schulte off his line.
With the Crew scrambling, Baribo got the ball to Westfield for a strike from distance in his 11th MLS match.
Baribo entered tied for the league lead with seven goals but six had come in the first three matches. He picked a perfect time to break his slump.
The play was started by a long outlet by goalkeeper Andrew Rick down the left flank to Quinn Sullivan, who flicked a leading cross with the outside of his right foot to enable Baribo to score his eighth goal, all off a first touch.
Replays showed Sullivan could have been called offside but the play was not reviewed.
Arfsten scored his third goal with a left-footed shot from the middle of the box from an assist by Chambost.
Philadelphia’s Jamaican international goalkeeper Andre Blake was unable to play because of a knee injury so the 19-year-old Rick made his third MLS start of the season and ninth of his career.
The match was a homecoming for Crew midfielder Daniel Gazdag. The Union’s all-time goals leader with 59 in four-plus seasons was traded on April 1.
He had two goals and two assists in six matches for the Union this season but has not contributed to a score in his four Crew matches.
