Joe Ryan scattered two hits over six scoreless innings as the visiting Minnesota Twins extended their winning streak to 12 games with a 3-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday.

Ryan (4-2), who improved to 3-0 in his last four starts, allowed Brice Turang’s single to lead off the first inning and William Contreras’ double in the sixth. Ryan struck out nine batters and walked one before exiting after 99 pitches.

Brock Stewart, Griffin Jax and Cole Sands combined to strike out seven batters over the final three innings. Sands picked up his second save of the season and handed the Brewers their sixth loss in the last eight games.

Minnesota’s Ty France and Kody Clemens each had an RBI single in the first inning. Clemens and Christian Vazquez each had two hits for the Twins, who are three shy of matching the franchise’s best consecutive wins mark during its time in Minnesota, set during the 1991 season.

The Twins won 17 consecutive when they were based in Washington, D.C. all the way back in 1912.

DaShawn Keirsey Jr. scored a run while starting in place of Byron Buxton, who collided with Carlos Correa while chasing after a shallow fly ball to center field during Minnesota’s 4-0 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday afternoon.

Brooks Lee, the Twins’ regular second baseman, got the start in place of Correa after the three-time All-Star was placed on the seven-day concussion injured list Friday.

Willi Castro fouled a ball off his right kneecap in the first inning. He was replaced in the second by Ryan Fitzgerald, who made his major-league debut after being promoted from Triple-A St. Paul earlier in the day.

Rookie Chad Patrick (2-4) permitted three runs on eight hits in six innings.

Minnesota got the early jump as Trevor Larnach was hit by a pitch from Patrick and advanced to third on a Ryan Jeffers single before scoring on France’s RBI single to right field. Clemens’ RBI single to center field plated Jeffers to give the Twins a 2-0 lead.

Minnesota increased its advantage after the first three batters each singled to start the second inning before Keirsey scored on Jeffers’ double-play ball.
