Troy Williams completed a pair of scoring passes in overtime, leading the Memphis Showboats to a 24-22 win over the host San Antonio Brahmas on Friday.
The UFL’s overtime consists of each team getting three chances for two-point conversions from the 5-yard line. Williams connected with Daewood Davis and Kai Locksley on Memphis’ first two attempts, while San Antonio missed on a rush before Kevin Hogan hit Jontre Kirklin on the Brahmas’ second attempt.
The Showboats (2-6) failed to wrap up the win when San Antonio’s Tavante Beckett picked off a Williams pass in the third round, but Hogan then threw incomplete to end the game.
In regulation, Williams completed 5 of 11 passes for 36 yards. Jalen Jackson led Memphis with 76 rushing yards and a touchdown on seven carries.
Hogan completed 14 of 25 passes for 90 yards and was intercepted three times for the Brahmas (1-7). Jashaun Corbin amassed 143 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries, and tight end Steven Stilianos threw a 38-yard scoring pass to Dee Anderson.
