Fourth-seeded Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan cruised into the quarterfinals with a 6-1, 6-3 win Tuesday over China’s Xinyu Wang at the Internationaux de Strasbourg in France.
Rybakina struck six aces and saved both break points she faced in the 65-minute match to set up a meeting with Poland’s Magda Linette, a 6-4, 6-3 winner over Rebecca Sramkova of Slovakia.
Third-seeded Paula Badosa of Spain was tied 3-3 when Marie Bouzkova of the Czech Republic retired from their second-round match at the WTA 500 event. Up next for Badosa is No. 8 seed Liudmila Samsonova of Russia, who earned a 6-4, 6-4 win over France’s Diane Parry.

Spain’s Aliona Bolsova rallied for a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 first-round upset of sixth-seeded Czech Katerina Siniakova at the WTA 250 tournament in Rabat, Morocco.
Bolsova saved five of eight break points and took advantage of 10 double faults by Siniakova in a match that lasted just under 2 hours. She will face Jaqueline Cristian of Romania in the second round.
Also advancing were Maria Mateas, Russia’s Kamilla Rakhimova, Latvia’s Anastasija Sevastova, Australia’s Maya Joint, the Netherlands’ Arantxa Rus and Burundi’s Sada Nahimana.
