The U.S. Women’s National Team will play their final Olympic tune-up against Costa Rica on July 16 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
The friendly announced Tuesday by the U.S. Soccer Federation will be the Americans’ last match before competing in the Paris Summer Games.
The send-off match completes a schedule that includes dates with South Korea on June 1 in Commerce City, Colo., and June 4 in St. Paul, Minn., plus a contest against Mexico on July 13 in Harrison, N.J.
The USWNT is scheduled to depart for France the day after facing Costa Rica. Coach Emma Hayes’ squad will play Group B matches against Zambia on July 25 in Nice, against Germany on July 28 in Marseille, and versus Australia on July 31 in Marseille.
Since winning a record fourth gold medal at the London Olympics in 2012, the USWNT lost to Sweden in the 2016 quarterfinals in Brazil and to Canada in the semifinals in the 2020 Tokyo Games. The Americans took home the bronze medal from Tokyo.
