The Seattle Mariners reinstated right-hander George Kirby from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start on Thursday against the host Houston Astros.
Kirby, 27, has not pitched in the majors this season due to right shoulder inflammation. He posted a 7.20 ERA over three rehab starts with Triple-A Tacoma.
An All-Star in 2023 and a 14-game winner in 2024, Kirby is 35-26 with a 3.43 ERA in 89 starts over three seasons with the Mariners. Seattle drafted him in the first round (20th overall) in 2019.
The Mariners optioned right-handed reliever Troy Taylor to Tacoma in a corresponding move. Taylor, 23, has no decisions and a 12.15 ERA in eight appearances this season.
