Kyle Schwarber hit his 18th homer of the season and later lined a two-run tiebreaking double in the 11th inning to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 9-6 victory over the Athletics on Saturday night at West Sacramento, Calif.

Nick Castellanos drove in two runs, one on a sacrifice fly to score Schwarber in the 11th as the Phillies extended their season-best winning streak to nine games.

The Athletics saw their season-worst losing streak reach 11 games. They were two outs away from a victory before Max Kepler delivered a ninth-inning homer to right off closer Mason Miller to tie the score at 6.

Brent Rooker hit a homer in the eighth inning to give the Athletics a 6-5 lead. Jacob Wilson and Miguel Andujar each had three hits and an RBI for the A’s.

Both teams left the bases loaded in the 10th and the Phillies’ threat died as Grant Holman struck out Brandon Marsh and retired Kepler on a fly to center.

In the bottom of the 10th, there were none out when Rooker stepped up to the plate for the Athletics and hit a broken-bat fly to shallow center and Brandon Marsh threw out pinch runner Logan Davidson at the plate. Tyler Soderstrom was walked intentionally before Orion Kerkering (4-1) got Shea Langeliers to fly to left.

Max Lazar worked out of an 11th-inning jam by striking out Davidson to record his first career save for the Phillies, who have won 13 of their past 14 road games.

Mitch Spence (1-1) took the loss for the Athletics, who are 0-6 on a seven-game homestand.

Alec Bohm homered for the Phillies. Bryce Harper had two hits, including an RBI single in the seventh to tie the game at 5.

Philadelphia took a 3-2 lead in the fourth inning when Bohm hit a one-out homer to left.

The Athletics knotted the score in the fifth on Andujar’s run-scoring single.

Schwarber led off the sixth with a homer to right. The blast allowed him to tie Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees for the major league lead.

The Athletics moved ahead 5-4 with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Lawrence Butler led off with a pinch-hit double and Nick Kurtz followed with an RBI single. Later in the inning, Soderstrom lined a run-scoring single to give the Athletics the lead.

Philadelphia’s Cristopher Sanchez gave up three runs (two earned) and seven hits over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out six and walked three.

Jeffrey Springs of the Athletics worked six innings and gave up four runs (three earned) and four hits. He fanned six and walked two.
