The Toronto Defiant continued their offseason overhaul by releasing DPS Jin-ui “im37” Hong, support Jaeyoon “Aid” Go and tank Normunds “sharyk” Faterins.
The moves come after flex tank Daniel “Gods” Graeser announced on Monday that he is a free agent.
sharyk and Gods joined the team in May from the Montreal Rebellion. However, Toronto finished tied for 17th at 8-20 in Season 2, failing to reach the playoffs while having a minus-33 map differential (39-72-4).
“Looks like its time to part ways with Toronto Defiant,” sharyk tweeted. “Thanks to Toronto for giving me a chance and fans for supporting us this season, i’m sure they will do better next year.”

Aid was the longest-tenured of the released players, having joined the Defiant along with tank Gyeongmu “Yakpung” Jo in October 2018.
“During this season, I think I will take many experiences and good memories from Toronto Defiant,” Aid tweeted. “I wanted to repay the fans who were always supporting me during the hard times, but I’m sorry that it didn’t work out. I’ve enjoyed it and appreciated it.”
