Kai Wagner had a pair of second-half goal contributions, and visiting Philadelphia Union rallied late for a 2-1 win over Toronto FC on Wednesday.

Wagner assisted on Nathan Harriel game-tying goal in the 86th minute, then scored in the second minute of second-half stoppage time.

Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia (10-3-3, 33 points) stretched its unbeaten streak to eight matches (6-0-2). The Union, who have not dropped a match since a 1-0 defeat to New York City FC on April 12, improved to 5-2-0 in away matches this season.

Goalkeeper Andre Blake, who returned to the Union lineup after missing four matches due to an injury, made three saves.

Ola Brynhildsen scored the lone goal for Toronto (3-9-4, 13 points). The Reds, who sit 14th in the Eastern Conference, dropped to 1-6-2 at home this season and have just one win in their past four outings.

With Philadelphia trailing 1-0, Harriel headed in Wagner’s corner kick for his second goal of the season.

Six minutes later, Wagner’s strike from outside the area deflected off a Toronto defender and past goalie Sean Johnson.

Brynhildsen opened the scoring in the 75th minute, taking a Deybi Flores pass and putting his right-footed strike up and over Blake for his second goal of the season.

Theo Corbeanu nearly doubled the Reds’ lead two minutes later but put his shot over the bar.

Toronto held a slight edge in first-half possession and had a couple of excellent chances to open the scoring.

Captain Jonathan Osorio’s strike from in close was turned aside by Blake in the 42nd minute. Then, on the rebound, Brynhildsen’s strike sailed over the bar.

Johnson ended the game with four saves.

Wednesday was the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The Union and Reds conclude the season series on Aug. 9 at Chester, Pa.
