Nolan Schanuel drilled a run-scoring single with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Los Angeles Angels a 2-1 victory over the Athletics on Tuesday night in Anaheim, Calif.

Schanuel reached base four times — on three singles and a walk — as the Angels improved to 6-0 against the Athletics this season.

Travis d’Arnaud hit a tying homer in the eighth inning for the Angels, who won for the sixth time in the past eight games. Jose Soriano struck out a career-best 12 in seven innings. Reid Detmers (2-2) struck out two in the top of the 10th.

Brent Rooker stroked a run-scoring double for the Athletics, who fell for the 23rd time in their past 27 games.

Jo Adell was the automatic runner in the bottom of the 10th, and he moved to third on Kevin Newman’s bouncer for the second out. Zach Neto was walked intentionally by Hogan Harris (1-1) before Schanuel lined the decisive hit.

Schanuel’s winner was the only hit in the game with runners in scoring position. The Angels were 1-for-6 and the Athletics were hitless in eight at-bats.

The Athletics took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the eighth before d’Arnaud slammed the first pitch from T.J. McFarland over the wall in left-center.

One out later, Schanuel singled. Tyler Ferguson then replaced McFarland and induced Mike Trout to fly out. Schanuel stole second before Taylor Ward struck out to end the inning.

Soriano gave up one run, two hits and two walks. He didn’t give up a hit until two outs in the sixth.

Mitch Spence allowed three walks over five shutout innings for the Athletics. He struck out four and walked none.

Neto had two of Los Angeles’ seven hits.

Athletics star Jacob Wilson (left hamstring tightness) sat out the contest.

Soriano walked Max Schuemann to start the sixth and struck out the next two before Rooker smacked a run-scoring double to left-center for the Athletics’ first hit.

The Angels began their half of the sixth with a double by Neto and a walk to Schanuel before Michael Kelly induced Trout to ground into a double play. Ward drew a walk before Kelly retired Jorge Soler on a fly to right to end the frame.
