Spencer Strider pitched six strong innings and Matt Olson hit a three-run double to help the Atlanta Braves beat the visiting New York Mets 7-1 on Thursday and complete a three-game series sweep.

It was just the second sweep of the season for the Braves, who have won six of their past seven games. New York has lost a season-high six straight.

Strider (2-5) allowed one run on five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts. He retired 12 of the final 13 batters he faced while improving to 5-1 all-time against the Mets.

Atlanta relievers Enyel De Los Santos, Dylan Lee and Rafael Montero each pitched a scoreless inning to finish the game.

Olson went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two walks and two runs. He has hit safely in 10 straight games and has reached base safely in 20 consecutive games, the majors’ longest active streak.

New York starter Clay Holmes (7-4) gave up three runs on four hits in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out five and issued a career-high six walks while throwing a career-high 104 pitches.

The Mets scored the game’s first run in the second inning. Tyrone Taylor singled with one out, stole second and came home on Ronny Mauricio’s two-out single.

The Braves tied the game in the fourth on an RBI single by Ozzie Albies.

Atlanta scored twice in the fifth inning to take a 3-1 lead. Two walks and a single loaded the bases, and Drake Baldwin drew a run-scoring walk, the final ball coming after play was temporarily stopped while Holmes switched out his PitchCom device. Reliever Huascar Brazoban entered and walked Albies on four pitches to force in another run.

The Braves broke the game open by scoring four times in the sixth inning. With two outs and the bases loaded, Olson lined a double to right field that cleared the bags. Olson scored when Baldwin singled to right.

New York’s Juan Soto singled off Strider in the first inning to pick up his 1,000th career hit. However, teammate Jeff McNeil went 0-for-4 and saw his streak of reaching base end at 20 games.
