Fighting PandaS, Alliance, Evil Geniuses and J.Storm won their decider matches on Sunday to advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs at the $1 million MDL Chengdu Major.
In Group A play, PandaS defeated Team Unknown 2-0 in the losers’ match, then swept EHOME by the same score in the decider match.
The PandaS will face ViCi Gaming, who finished atop Group B on Saturday, in the opening round.
In Group B, Fnatic won their losers match against Team Spirit 2-0, but fell to Alliance 2-0 in the decider match to drop to the lower bracket.
Alliance take on Group A’s top finisher, TNC Predator, in their playoff opener.
In Group C, Team Aster beat Team Adroit 2-0 in the losers’ match, only to fall to Evil Geniuses 2-1 in the decider.
Evil Geniuses will meet Invictus Gaming, who finished atop Group D, in the first round.
In Group D, beastcoast held off Gambit Esports 2-1 to reach the decider match, but lost 2-1 to J.Storm and dropped to the lower bracket.

The lower bracket opening matchups are EHOME vs. Team Spirit, Team Aster vs. Gambit Esports, Fnatic vs. Team Unknown and beastcoast vs. Team Adroit.
Group play consisted of 16 teams competing in four pools in best-of-three matches. The top two teams in each group advanced to the upper bracket of the playoffs, with the bottom two moving to the lower bracket.
The first round of the lower bracket playoffs will be best-of-one competitions, with all others best of three until the best-of-five Grand Final on Nov. 24.
The winner will take home $300,000 and 4,850 DPC points toward qualification for The International 2020.
