Rookie Agustin Ramirez had two hits, including a double, and scored twice, leading the host Miami Marlins to a 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night.

All four of Miami’s runs scored with two outs as the Marlins improved to 22-12 over their past 34 games.

Miami starter Edward Cabrera (4-4) lasted 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run on five hits and no walks. He struck out six.

After relievers Cade Gibson and Anthony Bender held the Padres in check, Ronny Henriquez allowed two runs in the ninth but was able to collect his sixth save.

Padres starter Stephen Kolek (3-5), whose older brother Tyler was the Marlins’ first-round pick in 2014, lasted 5 2/3 innings and allowed three runs on eight hits and one walk.

Miami mounted a two-run rally with two outs in the first inning. Otto Lopez singled and scored when Ramirez’s slow roller turned into a hit and a two-base throwing error by third baseman Manny Machado. Kyle Stowers followed with an RBI double.

San Diego got one run back in the third when Martin Maldonado doubled, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Luis Arraez’s single to right.

The Padres nearly tied it in the sixth. Arraez stroked a leadoff double and advanced to third on Gavin Sheets’ infield single, during which Cabrera was late covering first.

But Cabrera made up for it when the next batter, Xander Bogaerts, hit a slow roller to Cabrera’s right. Cabrera charged in, barehanded the ball and flipped to Ramirez, who tagged Arraez at the plate.

Miami scored another run in the sixth. Ramirez doubled down the third-base line, and after Stowers was walked intentionally, Heriberto Hernandez lined an RBI single to center.

Miami extended its lead to 4-1 in the eighth as Hernandez singled and scored on a two-out triple to left-center by Javier Sanoja.

San Diego got to Henriquez in the ninth as Sheets drew a leadoff walk, Bogaerts doubled, then Jackson Merrill doubled off the right field wall to score both runners.

Henriquez then got Jake Cronenworth (popout), Jose Iglesias (strikeout) and Trenton Brooks (popout) to end the game.
