Jose Tena connected for a two-run single in the seventh to help the Washington Nationals rally for a 3-2 win against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday.

Nationals starter Brad Lord gave up two runs on seven hits and fanned three in six innings. Reliever Shinnosuke Ogasawa (1-1) got the final out of the seventh, the lone batter he faced, to earn the win. Cole Henry threw a scoreless ninth for his first save.

Washington has won two straight and four of its past six.

The Phillies have lost three in a row. Starter Jesus Luzardo (11-6) allowed three runs on four hits and struck out seven in six innings. He started the seventh, issuing two walks and a hit before he was replaced by Orion Kerkering.

The Nationals struggled through the first six innings before finally capitalizing in the seventh. With Philadelphia ahead 2-1, Luzardo gave up a lead-off walk to Paul DeJong. Riley Adams followed with a double to left field, and Lile drew another walk to load the bases with nobody out.

That ended Luzardo’s night, and Kerkering stepped in. Kerkering got the first out, but Tena delivered a single to center that scored DeJong and Adams to put the Nationals ahead 3-2.

Philadelphia broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the fifth inning. After Trea Turner connected for a broken bat single, Kyle Schwarber put a double off the wall in center field that brought in Turner and gave the visitors a 2-1 advantage.

The Phillies took a 1-0 lead in the third. Bryson Stott led off with a ground-ball double down the left field line and Turner followed with an infield single to give them runners on the corners with nobody out. Then, with one out, Bryce Harper grounded into a fielder’s choice that drove in Stott.

DeJong tied it up for Washington in the bottom of the fourth when he belted a first pitch fastball over the wall in left field that landed next to the Phillies’ bullpen.
