Darell Hernaiz drew a walk with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Athletics a 7-6 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night in West Sacramento, Calif.

Tyler Soderstrom had an RBI single earlier in the frame as the Athletics rallied to score twice after the Tigers pushed across one in the top of the inning.

Jacob Wilson homered and had four RBIs for the Athletics, who won for the 11th time in the past 16 games.

Riley Greene hit his first career grand slam and Colt Keith had a homer among three hits for the Tigers. Zach McKinstry delivered the single off Elvis Alvarado that gave Detroit a 6-5 lead in the top of the 10th.

Rooker was on second to start the bottom of the 10th and Soderstrom followed by bouncing a single through the left side off Wil Vest (6-3) to score Rooker and tie the score. Soderstrom went to second on the throw and Wilson followed with a walk before Colby Thomas advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt.

Lawrence Butler then walked to load the bases before Hernaiz got ahead 3-0 before drawing the decisive five-pitch walk.

Eduarniel Nunez (1-0) got the final out in the top of the 10th with runners on first and third.

Detroit has dropped three straight games after winning five in a row.

Tigers starter Charlie Morton gave up five runs and seven hits over five innings. He struck out seven and walked two.

Osvaldo Bido started for the A’s and allowed four runs and three hits over three innings. He struck out five and walked two.

The Athletics struck first off Morton as Nick Kurtz and Langeliers led off the game with singles. Wilson then smacked a first-pitch sinker over the wall in left to give the A’s a quick three-run lead.

Detroit loaded the bases with one out in the third on a walk to Jake Rogers, a single by Keith and a walk to Gleyber Torres. After Kerry Carpenter fanned, Greene walloped a 1-2 slider from Bido well beyond the fence in center for a 471-foot, grand slam.

The A’s moved back ahead in the bottom of the inning. Langeliers, Rooker and Soderstrom strung together consecutive singles with the latter one tying the score at four. Wilson then grounded into a fielder’s choice to give the Athletics the lead.

Keith drilled a homer to right center with one out in the fifth off Justin Sterner to tie it at five.
