Chilean qualifier Alejandro Tabilo saved two championship points and defeated top-seeded Lorenzo Musetti of Italy 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (5) to win the Chengdu Open on Tuesday in China.
It is the third ATP Tour title and first of the season for Tabilo, who fought off a pair of championship points while serving at 5-6 in the third set and overcame a 4-1 deficit in the tiebreak.
Tabilo, 28, became the second qualifier to win on tour this year, joining Jenson Brooksby (Houston in April). He emerged victorious despite recording fewer winners (37-29) and committing nearly twice as many unforced errors (44-23) as Musetti during the two-hour, 37-minute final.

No. 3 seed Alexander Bublik set a career high with his fourth title of the season, defeating French qualifier Valentin Royer 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4) to finish his flawless week in China without dropping a set.
The 28-year-old Kazakhstani joined World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz of Spain (seven) as the only men to win at least four trophies in 2025. It was the eighth singles title of his career.
Bublik hammered 21 aces and saved both break points he faced in the tightly contested final that lasted one hour and 51 minutes. Royer’s remarkable run resulted in a 13-spot climb to a career-best No. 75 in the rankings.
