The Chicago Fire and visiting Toronto FC played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday night.

Jack Elliott scored a brace for Chicago (15-11-7, 52 points), which officially clinched an MLS Cup playoff spot with a 5-3 win over Inter Miami on Tuesday and extended its unbeaten streak to four matches with Saturday’s draw.

A Chicago own goal and a Djordje Mihailovic marker in second-half stoppage time secured Toronto (5-13-14, 29 points) a single point and extended the Reds’ unbeaten streak to eight matches (0-0-8).

Elliott’s own goal in the first half put Toronto on the board. The Chicago captain redeemed himself with a pair of second-half goals.

Trailing 1-0, Chicago tied it 1-1 in the 71st minute as Elliott headed in Philip Zinckernagel’s corner kick.

Then, in the 89th minute, Elliott gave Chicago its first lead of the match, heading in the Zinckernagel free kick.

However, Mihailovic pulled Toronto even in second-half stoppage time.

Sigurd Rosted was awarded a penalty kick after being tripped in the area by Jonathan Bamba. Keeper Chris Brady saved Mihailovic’s initial shot on the ensuing penalty kick, but the Toronto midfielder put in his own rebound for his second goal as a member of the Reds.

Toronto held a slight edge in possession and led 1-0 at halftime.

A sliding Elliott deflected Derrick Etienne Jr.’s cross intended for Deandre Kerr past keeper Brady in the 27th minute, giving the visitors an early 1-0 lead.

Toronto nearly made it 2-0 four minutes later as Jonathan Osorio connected on a header off Mihailovic’s corner kick, but Brady was able to make the save.

Chicago had the better of the chances early in the half and had three shots on target in the opening 45 minutes.

In the 16th minute, Brian Gutierrez’s right-footed strike from the top of the area was saved by a diving Sean Johnson.

Three minutes later, Johnson was in position to make the save off Hugo Cuypers’s strike from the center of the box.

Then, in the 20th minute, Johnson made a diving save on Sergio Oregel’s shot from the side of the goal.
