Team Liquid hands Geekay Esports 1st loss at OWCS NA Stage 3

Team Liquid improved to 5-0 and took over first place with a comeback win over previously unbeaten Geekay Esports on Saturday at the Overwatch Champions Series 2025 — North America Stage 3.

Spacestation Gaming edged Extinction to improve to 5-1, while Sakura Esports swept Team Z and is now 3-3.

The online tournament features eight teams. Week 5 wraps up Sunday, with Week 6 scheduled for Oct. 11-12.

The top six teams in the standings will advance to the double-elimination regional playoffs. The top three finishers in the playoffs will earn Overwatch Champions Series 2025 World Finals invitations as well as cash prizes of $30,000 (first), $20,000 (second) and $14,500 (third). Lower finishers will earn less: $10,500 for fourth, $7,500 for fifth and sixth and $5,000 for seventh and eighth.

Geekay Esports jumped out to a 2-1 lead with wins on Samoa (2-0) and Junkertown (4-3) sandwiched around a 2-1 loss on Hollywood. Team Liquid, however, rallied with victories on Esperanca (111.09m-98.1m) and Suravasa (3-0) to upend Geekay.

Sakura Esports made quick work of Team Z, posting victories on Samoa (2-0), King’s Row (2-1) and Watchpoint: Gibraltar (3-2).

Spacestation and Extinction went back and forth, but Spacestation ultimately prevailed with a 3-1 triumph on Suravasa. Spacestation opened with a 2-1 victory on Lijiang Tower before Extinction pulled even with a 3-2 win on Watchpoint: Gibraltar. Spacestation again took the lead on King’s Row (3-1), only to see Extinction rebound on New Queen Street (95.94m-60.31m).

Week 5 concludes on Sunday with NMTR (2-3) facing Team Z (1-4), and Geekay Esports (4-1) taking on DhillDucks (0-5).
