Jonathan Huberdeau scored twice as the Calgary Flames salvaged the finale of their four-game road trip with a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.

Dustin Wolf made 17 saves for Calgary, which had won only two of its first 13 games. His only blemish in this one was a third-period goal by Travis Konecny.

Aleksei Kolosov made 19 saves for the Flyers, while Dan Vladar — who spent the previous four seasons with the Flames — watched from the bench after getting pulled in Saturday night’s defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Philadelphia managed only three shots in the first period. Christian Dvorak had a short-handed breakaway attempt late in the session but missed the net entirely.

Seconds later, ex-Flyer Morgan Frost had a tip-in attempt from the doorstep, but Kolosov got his skate on it to keep the game scoreless.

Early in the second period, Huberdeau opened the scoring with his third goal of the season. Yegor Sharangovich found Huberdeau on a 2-on-2 rush and the veteran winger beat Kolosov with a wrister from the top of the left circle, with Sharangovich creating a screen in front.

Huberdeau has scored in each of the last two games after not scoring in the previous six contests.

Shortly thereafter, Wolf made a nice glove save on Egor Zamula on an offensive rush.

With about 14 minutes left in the game, Philadelphia had several scoring chances from close range, but Wolf held firm. His glove save on Travis Sanheim ended the chaotic sequence.

A couple of minutes later, Calgary made it 2-0 when MacKenzie Weegar’s shot from the right point was deflected by Huberdeau and into the net.

Wolf made a glove stop on Konecny with 5:41 left, but Konecny scored off the ensuing faceoff to get the hosts within 2-1 with 5:40 left.

The Flyers pulled their goaltender with about two minutes left. Their best chance down the stretch came off a nifty passing sequence, but Wolf made a glove save on Sean Couturier.

Philadelphia welcomed Couturier (undisclosed injury) back to the lineup after a one-game absence, although winger Tyson Foerster (lower-body injury) missed Sunday’s game and could sit out the next few contests.
