The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced on Thursday the creation of an advisory board, noteworthy both for its ambitions and its composition.

Board members include current and former sports stars such as Chris Paul, Brandi Chastain, Sabrina Ionescu, Sue Bird, Eli Manning, Grant Hill, Ken Griffey Jr., Lindsey Vonn and Magic Johnson, among other celebrities.

The group represents a collection of investors and legendary athletes aiming to accelerate the league’s growth, expand its reach and shape the future of women’s soccer.

Per the NWSL’s release, “The Advisory Board brings together some of the most influential voices in sports, entertainment and business — all of whom are current investors in NWSL clubs. Together, they’ll help the league unlock new opportunities for partnership, expand fan reach and strengthen its position as both a premier professional league and a powerful cultural platform.”

The new board will begin convening in 2026 to start identifying opportunities toward reaching its goals for growth.

“The NWSL is one of the most exciting leagues in sports today, with growth that rivals anything we’ve seen before,” said Eli Manning, board member and investor of Gotham FC. “I’m honored to be part of this Advisory Board and to help continue building a league that inspires communities, empowers women and sets the standard for excellence on and off the field.”

Each NWSL team is represented by up to two individuals. The full list is below:

Chris Paul, Julie Foudy (Angel City FC)
