Lamar Wilkerson scored a game-high 24 points Wednesday night, and Indiana lit it up from distance during a 101-70 win over Milwaukee in Bloomington, Ind.

Wilkerson was 7-of-12 from the field and made 5 of 6 3-pointers for the Hoosiers (3-0), which sank 14 of 28 from distance. It was their second straight game with 14 threes, something they hadn’t previously done in a regular-season game since February of 2018.

Tayton Conerway added 21 points and six assists for Indiana, while Reed Bailey chipped in 14 points and Tucker DeVries netted 12. The Hoosiers shot 56.7% from the field and converted 15 Panther turnovers into 24 points.

Danilo Jovanovich scored 18 points for Milwaukee (2-2), while Seth Hubbard added 17 and Amar Augillard tallied 14. The Panthers shot respectably at 46.8% but simply weren’t able to stop Indiana’s potent attack.

Ahead by 12 at halftime, the Hoosiers gradually pulled away during the second half. The lead reached 20 for the first time via Conerway’s layup at the 8:02 mark that made it 77-56. Indiana pushed the advantage as high as 33 in the last minute.

The Hoosiers came into this one fresh off a splendid performance Sunday in Chicago, where they waxed Marquette 100-77 as they sank 14 3-pointers. They led nearly the entire first half of this game, but Milwaukee was able to keep the game competitive by shooting nearly 47% from the field and making 5 of 11 3-pointers.

Indiana opened up a 19-8 advantage on a 3-pointer by Trent Sisley with 12:26 left, but the Panthers responded. They pulled within 26-21 when Josh Dixon drilled a 3-pointer at the 8:33 mark, forcing Hoosiers coach Darian DeVries to burn a timeout.

Bailey’s dunk upped the Indiana advantage to 42-27 with 5:04 remaining, but Milwaukee got within 46-39 on an Augillard 3-pointer. However, the Hoosiers pushed the advantage to 51-39 at the break when Wilkerson found Bailey for a layup.
