Anthony Dell’Orso, No. 5 Arizona pull out win over No. 15 UCLA

Anthony Dell’Orso scored 20 points and Jaden Bradley tallied 13 of his 15 points in the second half to help No. 5 Arizona notch a 69-65 victory over No. 15 UCLA on Friday in the Hall of Fame Series at Inglewood, Calif.

Motiejus Krivas added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats (4-0), who scored 16 of the game’s final 22 points to prevail in the contest between former Pac-12 powerhouse squads considered two of the top programs in the West.

Tyler Bilodeau scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting for the Bruins (3-1). Eric Dailey Jr. added 13 points, Donovan Dent had 11 points and eight assists and Xavier Booker registered 10 points and seven rebounds.

Arizona trailed by eight before putting together an 11-2 spurt. Dell’Orso culminated it with a 3-pointer to give the Wildcats a 60-59 edge with 2:54 remaining.

Bilodeau’s basket put UCLA back into the lead before Bradley’s dunk gave Arizona a 62-61 lead with 2:12 left. Skyy Clark hit a jumper as UCLA went back ahead with 1:47 remaining.

Bradley drained a 3-pointer to give the Wildcats a 65-63 lead with 1:23 remaining. He added another hoop on a driving shot in which he banked the ball high off the glass and it fell through for a four-point advantage with 28 seconds left.

Dent drove for a layup to pull the Bruins within two with 19.2 seconds remaining before Dell’Orso hit two free throws with 17 seconds left. Clark missed a late 3-point attempt, and the Wildcats ran out the clock.

Arizona shot 47.3% from the field and hit 6 of 19 (31.6%) from 3-point range. Dell’Orso made 4 of 7 from behind the arc.

The Bruins connected on 43.1% of their shots and were 9 of 17 (52.9%) from long distance. Bilodeau and Dailey each had three treys.

Ivan Kharchenkov made two layups in 14 seconds as the Wildcats led 39-32 with 15:51 left in the contest.

Arizona was up 45-40 before the Bruins rattled off nine straight points and 17 of 21. Bilodeau knocked down a trey to the game at 45-45, and Clark followed with four straight points as UCLA led 49-45 with 10:59 remaining.

Booker’s basket made it 54-49 with 7:37 remaining, and Bilodeau connected on a trey 19 seconds later to make it 57-49 before the Arizona flurry.

Dell’Orso scored 13 first-half points and Arizona held a 28-25 lead at the break.
