Indiana pulls away from Lindenwood in game of runs

Tucker DeVries scored 25 points on 7-for-15 shooting, and Indiana pulled away for a 73-53 win over Lindenwood on Thursday evening in Bloomington, Ind.

Lamar Wilkerson added 10 points for Indiana (5-0), which won its fourth game at home. Sam Alexis had eight points and 10 boards, and Trent Sisley finished with eight points and six rebounds, both off the bench.

Anias Futrell scored 12 points to lead Lindenwood (2-4). Jadis Jones finished with 10 points and nine rebounds, and Robert Lewis chipped in eight points.

Indiana shot 37.7% (23 of 61) overall and 32.1% (9 of 28) from 3-point range. Lindenwood shot 25.4% (17 of 67) from the field and 16.7% (3 of 18) from deep.

The Hoosiers finished with an 11-0 advantage in points off turnovers.

Indiana built a 34-18 lead at the half.

The Hoosiers opened the game on a 10-0 run. DeVries drained a 3-pointer, Tayton Conerway made a layup, Alexis threw down a dunk and Conerway added a 3-pointer of his own.

Milos Nenadic ended the shutout for Lindenwood when he made a layup with 13:30 remaining in the first half. The Lions went on a 7-1 run later in the half to pull within 15-11 with 10:09 left.

The back-and-forth swings continued as Indiana responded with a 12-0 run. Sisley made a jump shot to punctuate the run, which put the Hoosiers on top 27-11 with 6:02 remaining.

Futrell made a layup for Lindenwood to finish the first-half scoring.

The Lions opened the second half on a 10-0 run to pull within 34-28 with 16:57 to play. Clayton Jackson opened the run with a jumper and Nenadic finished it off with a dunk.

Alexis made a pair of free throws to put Indiana back on top by double digits with 14:04 left.

DeVries added five consecutive points to break the game open a couple minutes later. He made a 3-pointer to put Indiana on top 48-31 with 12:49 remaining, and he sank a pair of free throws 50 seconds later to cap what became a 13-0 stretch for the Hoosiers.
