Macklin Celebrini recorded a goal and an assist and Yaroslav Askarov made 34 saves to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 3-1 win over the visiting Boston Bruins on Sunday night.

Celebrini scored the eventual game-winner on the power play at 11:45 of the second period. The 19-year-old is on a five-game point streak for the third time in his young career, surpassing teammate Will Smith for the most by a Sharks teenager.

Shakir Mukhamadullin and Collin Graf also scored for the Sharks, who have won three of their last four but emerged victorious in regulation for the first time since Nov. 8.

Askarov stopped all 15 shots he faced in the middle frame.

Morgan Geekie netted the lone goal and Jeremy Swayman stopped 28 shots for Boston, which is just 2-4-0 in its last six games.

Boston had a 35-31 advantage in shots and went 0-for-3 on the power play while San Jose was 1-for-6.

The hosts drew first blood as Mukhamadullin stepped into a wrist shot from the left circle that appeared to deflect off a net-front defender with 4:07 left in the first period. Mario Ferraro’s feed at the point set the table for the goal.

Askarov continued to stymie the Bruins in the second, as stopping David Pastrnak’s one-timer off a faceoff win in the left dot kept it a 1-0 game at the 9:41 mark.

Celebrini doubled the San Jose lead about two minutes later at 11:45, taking Dmitry Orlov’s feed to the top of the left circle and slotting a power-play goal high to Swayman’s glove side.

The Sharks applied heavy pressure during a late 5-on-3 in the second, with Swayman making one of his best stops on Will Smith’s one-timer from the left circle with 1:40 to go.

Askarov made huge consecutive saves on another Pastrnak one-timer and a Marat Khusnutdinov follow-up at the top of the crease early in the third, but Geekie continued his surge with 9:58 left in regulation.

Pastrnak drove down the wing and dished a perfect wraparound for Geekie to slam home while waiting at the opposite post to get Boston on the scoreboard.

The San Jose stopper also flashed his glove at a Pastrnak shot from the slot inside seven minutes to play.

Just after Swayman darted to the bench for an extra attacker, a neutral-zone turnover led to a final empty-net goal. Graf spun around and scored from a tough angle with 1:07 left, following up a William Eklund try.
