Jaylon Tyson scored a career-high 39 points and set up Evan Mobley for the winning bucket as the Cleveland Cavaliers posted a 117-115 victory over the 76ers on Friday to sweep their two-game road series in Philadelphia.

Tyson shot 13 of 17 from the field, 7 of 9 from 3-point range and 6 of 6 from the foul line in a splendid shooting effort. His previous career highs were 31 points and five treys.

De’Andre Hunter added 16 points while Donovan Mitchell chipped in with 13 points and 12 assists for Cleveland, which played without Darius Garland. The All-Star point guard sustained a toe injury in Wednesday’s matchup, which the Cavaliers won comfortably, 133-107.

Joel Embiid scored 33 points and Tyrese Maxey had 22 points and nine assists to pace the Sixers, who took their third loss in four games. Cleveland has won three of the past four.

Paul George’s jumper gave the Sixers a 100-89 lead with about nine minutes left, but the Cavaliers answered with a 13-2 run that included 3-pointers from Tyrese Proctor, Mitchell and Hunter. Philadelphia punched back with a quick 9-2 run that featured four points by Maxey and a 3-pointer by Kelly Oubre Jr.

However, Cleveland was not done yet. Tyson hit two more 3-pointers, bookending Hunter’s poster dunk on Embiid, as the visitors jumped ahead 112-111.

The Cavaliers led by two in the waning seconds when Maxey’s floater tied it with 8.1 ticks remaining. On the other end, Tyson drove along the baseline before delivering a wrap-around pass to Mobley, who dunked with 4.8 seconds left.

Maxey’s half-court heave at the buzzer missed the rim.

The teams were tied 31-31 after one quarter. Cleveland shot 12 of 19 but also committed eight turnovers in the period. Quentin Grimes nailed two 3-pointers late in the second quarter to send the hosts into the locker room with a 62-55 advantage.

Embiid opened the third quarter with back-to-back buckets to put the Sixers ahead by 11. Tyson’s two 3-pointers helped the Cavaliers get within four, but Embiid countered with a 3-pointer to give Philadelphia some breathing room.

Oubre and Maxey each drained a trey in the final two minutes of the quarter to help the Sixers take a 91-84 lead into the fourth.
