James Harden, Clippers top Wizards for 6th straight win

James Harden had 36 points, seven rebounds and nine assists as the visiting Los Angeles Clippers won their sixth straight game with a 110-106 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday afternoon.

Jordan Miller scored 16 points and Ivica Zubac added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Clippers, who have won 13 of their last 15. John Collins scored 11 points and Kris Dunn added 10.

In a game that featured 11 ties and 10 lead changes, Washington pulled even at 106-all after Khris Middleton made three foul shots with 57.6 seconds left.

Harden hit two free throws to make it a two-point game with 36.9 seconds remaining, and Kyshawn George missed a 3-pointer before Harden missed two foul shots with two seconds left.

Collins grabbed an offensive rebound and tapped it to Harden, who made two free throws with 3.5 seconds left to seal the Clippers’ 10th straight win over Washington.

Alex Sarr had 28 points and six rebounds to lead the Wizards, who lost their seventh in a row. George scored 18 points, Bub Carrington added 17, Tre Johnson had 15 and Middleton chipped in 11.

Los Angeles won despite shooting 17.9% (5 of 28) from 3-point range.

The Clippers used a 7-1 run at the end of the first quarter to tie the game at 26-all.

Los Angeles went up 50-44 on Nicolas Batum’s trey with 3:09 left in the second quarter before Washington cut the deficit to 54-53 at the half.

Harden had 18 points in the half to lead the Clippers, while Sarr had 17 for the Wizards.

Washington opened the third quarter on a 17-6 run to move ahead 70-60 with 7:52 left in the period.

Harden sparked the Clippers with eight points during a 10-0 run before George hit a 3-pointer to put the Wizards ahead 81-79 at the end of the third quarter.

Harden was 9-of-17 shooting from the field and 18 of 20 from the foul line while becoming one of 10 players in NBA history to score at least 1,000 total points in 15-straight seasons.

Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard sat out his second straight game due to lingering discomfort from a left knee contusion.
