Boden Kapke scored a career-high 19 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 22 seconds remaining, as Boston College beat Pitt 65-62 for its second consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference win on Wednesday night at Chestnut Hill, Mass.

The Eagles (9-10, 2-4 ACC) erased a 62-59 deficit in the last 2:56, scoring the game’s final six points on back-to-back treys. Chase Forte’s make with 1:58 left tied the score.

Fred Payne added 18 points (16 in the second half) on three triples, while Donald Hand Jr. contributed 10 points and seven rebounds to aid Boston College.

Cameron Corhen (13 points, 12 rebounds) and Roman Siulepa (13 points, 11 rebounds) had double-doubles for Pitt (8-11, 1-5), which had five double-figure scorers.

Boston College led 28-22 at halftime, holding Pitt to 23.3% shooting in the opening period. Both teams shot above 50% after the break.

Kapke scored nine of Boston College’s first 13 points, including an opening turnaround layup before adding a 3-pointer and a personal 5-0 run seven minutes into the game.

The Panthers went nearly six minutes without a made field goal (0-for-7) after Dunning’s early triple gave them a 3-2 lead. Nojus Indrusaitis’ two hoops following the drought brought Pitt within 15-12.

Another Kapke bucket and a Caleb Steger trey moved the Eagles’ lead back to eight, but the visitors rattled off a 7-1 run in response. Two Corhen layups finished that stretch inside the final seven minutes before halftime.

Boston College’s Hand, Steger and Luka Toews sank jumpers during a 7-3 closing stretch before the break.

Pitt needed just 29 seconds in the second half to get within 28-27, as a Brandin Cummings three-point play and a Siulepa finish off a turnover forced the hosts to call timeour.

Corhen’s following layup gave the Panthers their first lead since 3-2 at 29-28. The teams traded baskets for about two minutes, a stretch that included a follow-up dunk from Boston College’s Aidan Shaw 5:06 into the period, leveling the score.

A 9-3 run gave Pitt a 45-39 lead with 12:03 left.

After a Forte three-point play brought the Eagles into a 47-47 tie, the Panthers used an 8-2 run including a Macari Moore trey to build a six-point lead with 8:49 to go.

Payne’s four-point play helped a quick 8-2 response to tie, and an Indrusaitis 3-pointer put Pitt back in front until Forte’s game-tying shot.

In the waning seconds, Cummings had a shot at a game-tying trey, following a turnover, fall short.

Pitt starting guard Damarco Minor was ejected for a Flagrant 2 foul on Forte’s drive with 8:31 left in the first half.
