The Detroit Red Wings signed defenseman Ben Chiarot to a three-year, $11.55 million extension on Wednesday.
The contract carries an average annual value of $3.85 million and covers the 2026-27 through 2028-29 seasons.
Chiarot, 34, has 11 points (four goals, seven assists), 113 blocks and 109 hits this season, his fourth with Detroit.
He has played all 54 games for the Red Wings (32-17-5), who entered Wednesday tied for second in the Eastern Conference.
Chiarot has 181 points (49 goals, 132 assists) in 777 career games with the Winnipeg Jets, Montreal Canadiens, Florida Panthers and Detroit.
