Xavier Edmonds posted his 10th double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds, leading TCU to a 73-65 upset win over No. 10 Texas Tech on Tuesday in Lubbock, Texas.

Micah Robinson contributed 15 points and Jayden Pierre tallied 14 points for TCU (20-10, 10-7 Big 12), which won its fourth straight game.

Donovan Atwell paced Texas Tech (22-8, 12-5) with 19 points. Jaylen Petty added 17 points and Christian Anderson chipped in 11 points and handed out nine assists for the Red Raiders, whose three-game winning streak ended.

A 5-0 TCU run on Brock Harding’s jumper and Liutauras Lelevicius’ 3-pointer gave TCU a 67-58 lead with 2:06 to play. Texas Tech answered with five straight points on baskets by Josiah Moseley and Petty, but Robinson’s dunk pushed TCU to a 69-62 lead with 1:01 left.

Atwell’s 3-pointer with 46 seconds to play cut TCU’s lead to 69-65, Edmonds’ putback made it 71-65 at the 31-second mark. Atwell missed a long-distance shot and Robinson drained a pair of foul shots as TCU secured the win.

In a tightly contested first half, TCU took a 21-14 lead when Lelevicius snared an offensive rebound and kicked it out to Harding for a trey from the wing.

A 10-2 run gave the Red Raiders a 31-28 lead when Petty hit a step-back 3-pointer at the 4:57 mark. Anderson’s layup in the closing seconds gave Texas Tech a 39-36 halftime advantage.

With a 7-0 rally, TCU took its first lead of the second half at 44-43 on Robinson’s turnaround banked-in jumper in the lane. The Horned Frogs got it done inside as they outscored the Red Raiders 38-22 in the paint.

As Texas Tech went cold — the Red Raiders didn’t notch a field goal for nearly seven minutes — TCU took advantage. The Horned Frogs ripped off a 14-3 flurry and took a 62-53 lead on a 3-pointer from Pierre.

The Horned Frogs held the upper hand when it came to rebounding. TCU had a 39-25 rebounding edge, including a 16-7 margin on offensive rebounds, and also won the battle for second-chance points 22-8.
