Denver Summit FC’s home opener in the franchise’s inaugural season came with plenty of fanfare but no goals in a scoreless draw with the Washington Spirit in front of an NWSL record crowd Saturday at Denver.

A turnout of 63,004 spectators at Empower Field at Mile High never saw a goal. The teams combined for seven corner kicks and never converted.

Goalkeeper Abby Smith made two saves for the Summit (1-2-1, 5 points)

Goalkeeper Sandy MacIver made two saves as the Spirit (0-3-1, 3 points) remained winless.

Utah Royals 2, Boston Legacy FC 1

Lara Prasnikar’s penalty kick early in the second half proved to be the difference as the Royals prevailed in Foxborough, Mass., for their first victory of the season.

Tatumn Milazzo’s first-half goal put Utah ahead and Prasnikar pushed the margin to 2-0 five minutes into the second half following Anni Karich’s foul in the penalty area.

Aissata Traore scored in the 72nd minute for Legacy (0-0-3, 0 points), which had been shut out in their first two matches of the season. There were 40 total fouls called in the game, with 25 on Boston.
