Woods sits at No. 47 in the FedEx Cup standings but owns a victory (2006) and three other top-3 finishes at TPC Boston. He has played just twice in the past six months, finishing in a tie for 37th at last week’s PGA Championship after a tie for 40th at the Memorial.
Woods needs to remain in the top 70 to advance to the second playoff event, the BMW Championship in Chicago at the end of August. Only the top 30 advance to the Tour Championship in Atlanta (Sept. 4-7).
