OVERVIEW

Green is originally from Australia but moved to the United States and played for the prestigious IMG Academy before signing with Arizona as a top-15 recruit. He comes from a basketball family, as both parents played professionally in Australia and brother Jay played for UNLV and recently transferred to Northern Arizona.
Green is one of the better perimeter defenders in this draft. He boasts a 6-foot-6, 210-pound frame with a 6-10 wingspan, and disrupts many plays simply because he plays with such high energy.
Green averaged 12 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game during his freshman season. He shot 36.1 percent from 3-point distance, and whether he develops consistency on that shot could determine his ceiling as an NBA player.
ANALYSIS
Green is relentless while defending on and off the ball. He can stay with guards or match up physically against wings. His instincts and intensity also shine when he is off the ball, helping him swipe 1.5 steals per game.
Green’s natural feel also translates to the offensive end, where he can do a little bit of everything. He makes plays for others and slashes to the basket. He can rebound and ignite the break. At times, he became Arizona’s primary offense-initiator when fellow draft prospect Nico Mannion was off the floor.
Green’s jumper mechanics, however, are clunky. He could also improve his handle and ability to finish at the rim.
Green’s physical traits, versatility and instincts make him a high-upside prospect. Immediately, he projects as a role player in the 3-and-D mold — as long as that jumper is reliable.
