Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey called the team Sunday night to inform officials he was ill and wouldn’t be at the facility on Monday, ESPN reported.
Ramsey told the team he had the flu, according to Adam Schefter’s report on Monday morning.
Ramsey requested a trade after a sideline clash with head coach Doug Marrone, but there is no deal in place. Owner Shad Khan said Thursday night he would be more inclined to give Ramsey a raise that trade him.
The 24-year-old Ramsey said the Jaguars leaked the information that he wanted a trade, a request he claimed was not shared by anyone from his camp.
Several teams inquired about Ramsey, per multiple reports, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings.
