Hooreg lands coaching role with Outlaws

Lee “Hooreg” Dong-eun landed the coaching role he was seeking on Monday with the Houston Outlaws announcing the former DPS player has joined the organization.

“The #ForceOfHooreg” is headed to Houston!” the Outlaws tweeted.

Hooreg was released by the Vancouver Titans last week, with the South Korean previously announcing that he was preparing to make the transition into coaching.

“I have been on the team for 3 years and I feel how to coach with my body and play games and learn,” Hooreg tweeted earlier this month. “It’s a new start for coach, but I’ll work hard to adapt quickly.”

Hooreg spent Season 1 of the OWL with the London Spitfire, winning the inaugural title as a substitute before being dropped by the team. He then returned to RunAway of Overwatch Contenders Korea, with much of that roster later moving to the Titans’ expansion team.

Vancouver went on to finish second in Season 2, losing to the San Francisco Shock in the grand finals.
