Minnesota Twins outfielder Max Kepler will reportedly have an MRI on his shoulder Monday.
He was originally thought to have a chest injury, but The Athletic said Sunday that Kepler has actually been dealing with a sore scapula muscle for months.
Kepler, 26, is batting .253 with a career-high 36 home runs, 31 doubles, 90 RBIs and 96 runs in 130 games this season.
Kepler appeared to aggravate the injury in Sunday’s 5-2 loss to the Cleveland Indians. He fouled out in the bottom of the first inning and did not take the field in the second inning.
