Top seed Taylor Fritz defeated Australia’s Max Purcell 6-4, 6-3 to win his third Rothesay International championship on Saturday in Eastbourne, England.
He is the first three-time titlist in the tournament’s 29-year history.
He did not lose a set throughout the tournament, and on Saturday, he struck nine aces and didn’t face a break point. He recorded 15 winners and two unforced errors, compared to 10 and 11, respectively, for Purcell.
Fritz previously won in Eastbourne in 2019 and 2022 and needed just 70 minutes for this victory — his second of 2024 following an earlier win at Delray Beach. The match was the first tour final for Purcell, a qualifier.

Fourth-seeded Alejandro Tabilo became the first man from Chile to win a grass-court title, defeating Sebastian Ofner of Austria 6-3, 6-4 in Spain.
Tabilo earned his first tour win earlier this year on the hard courts in Auckland. He joins Fritz as one of just two men to reach finals on hard, clay and grass surfaces this season.
Ofner was vying for his first career ATP Tour title but was thwarted by Tabilo, who served five aces and saved all three break points.
When the new rankings are released Monday, Tabilo will be No. 19, up more than 100 places in the past year.
