Four-star power forward prospect Al Amadou committed Thursday to play for Marquette.
A 6-foot-9, 185-pound native of Harrisburg, Pa., Amadou chose Shaka Smart and the Golden Eagles over finalists Georgia Tech, Miami, San Diego and St. John’s.
Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Amadou is rated the No. 104 player in the Class of 2023 and the No. 23 power forward.
“My relationship with (Smart) goes beyond just basketball,” Amadou said during his announcement, “but Marquette is a basketball school. They have a plan for me, and a tight-knit community, which is important to me.”
Amadou will spend his senior season of high school at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia.
