The Clemson Tigers remain favored to reach the College Football Playoff despite Saturday’s loss to Notre Dame.
The Fighting Irish rose to No. 2 in the AP Top 25 poll following their 47-40 double overtime victory over the Tigers. However, a potential rematch in the ACC title game would be played at a neutral site and likely with Trevor Lawrence back at quarterback for Clemson.
Alabama was the new national champion favorite at BetMGM (+180) and SportsBetting.com on Sunday, followed by Ohio State (+225, +200). Clemson was listed at +300 by both sportsbooks despite Saturday’s loss.
Florida was being offered at +1000 by BetMGM after the Gators thumped Georgia on Saturday, with Notre Dame listed at +1600. Meanwhile, the Irish were +1000 with the Gators at +1400 by SportsBetting.com.
No other team had lower than +3300 odds (Texas A&M) at either book.
Lawrence has missed two games after testing positive for COVID-19, which has significantly hampered his Heisman Trophy hopes.
Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is the +150 betting favorite by SportsBooks.com, followed by Alabama quarterback Mac Jones at +175. Lawrence, who was the -130 favorite two weeks ago, has fallen to +250.
However, FanDuel listed Lawrence at +175 on Sunday, making him the co-favorite along with Fields and Jones.
Florida quarterback Kyle Trask is +500 by SportsBetting.com and +1000 by FanDuel, followed by BYU quarterback Zach Wilson (+3500, +4000).
