Oddsmakers believe Alabama will finish one place better in 2022-23 than it did in the season that ended Monday night.
The Crimson Tide, who fell 33-18 to Georgia in the College Football Playoff final at Indianapolis, are the favorites or co-favorites to lift the big trophy next January. Alabama, with Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young expected back, was listed at +250 by Caesars Sportsbook and +200 by BetMGM.
The newly crowned national champion Bulldogs were co-favorites at BetMGM at +200. Caesars Sportsbook had Georgia at +450.
Rounding out the top of the board at Caesars were Ohio State (+700), Clemson (+1200), Oklahoma (+1500), Michigan (+1500), Southern California (+2000), Notre Dame (+2500) and Texas A&M (+2500).
Next on the list at BetMGM were Ohio State (+600), Clemson (+800), Michigan (+3500), Oklahoma (+3500), Texas A&M (+3500), USC (+3500), Florida (+5000), Oregon (+5000) and Texas (+5000).
FOX Bet’s top contenders were Alabama (+200), Georgia (+200), Ohio State (+750), Clemson (+1000), Texas A&M (+3000), Oklahoma (+4000), Michigan (+4000), Notre Dame (+5000), Miami (+5000), Florida (+5000), Penn State (+5000) and Oregon (+5000).
Next season’s national semifinal games will be played on Dec. 31 in Atlanta and Glendale, Ariz., with the CFP final to be contested on Jan. 9, 2023, at Inglewood, Calif.
