Grizzlies guard Mike Conley and center Marc Gasol have confirmed reports that the team is listening to trade offers for both Memphis mainstays. Both acknowledged at Wednesday’s shootaround that team owner Robert Pera told them they could be dealt by the Feb. 7 trade deadline. Both players have spent their entire careers with Memphis, with Conley in his 12th season and Gasol in his 11th. “It’s where we’re at, I guess. It’s part of the business. It’s not like we’ve been traded yet or anything like that,” Conley told The Athletic. “We knew the way things have been going the last few weeks that anything can happen. From here on, it’s about coming to work, continually trying to do things I can to help this team.” Gasol expressed frustration that Conley was on the trading block. “I don’t understand why Mike is in those talks,” he told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. “Mike is one heck of a player, and we’re going to need good players moving forward. I don’t understand why Mike is in this.” The Grizzlies have lost six straight and 12 of their last 13 games entering Wednesday night’s contest against the Charlotte Hornets. Conley, 31, is the franchise’s all-time leader in games, assists, 3-point field goals and steals. Gasol, who turns 34 next week, is the Grizzlies’ career leader in points, rebounds and blocked shots. Gasol is averaging 15.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists this season, while Conley is averaging 19.8 points, 6.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds.
