Cloud9 won its second consecutive elimination match Saturday, defeating Sentinels in the lower-bracket final of the League of Legends 2026 Americas Cup in Sao Paulo.
After losing its opener of the event on Wednesday, Cloud9 followed up Thursday’s 3-2 win over RED Canids with a 3-1 win over Sentinels. They now look to make it three straight wins Sunday vs. FURIA in the best-of-five grand final.
The four-team, double-elimination tournament included the second- and third-place finishers from the League Championship Series Lock-In and the Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends Cup. The winners of the latter two events qualified for the First Stand Tournament, scheduled for next week, also in Sao Paulo.
Cloud9 opened the match with a win on blue before Sentinels leveled it at 1-1 with a win on red. Cloud9 responded with wins in the next two matches on blue to clinch the victory.
Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme of Canada was the MVP of the match with a 2-7-53 kill-death-assist ratio. American Robert “Blaber” Huang led Cloud9 in kills, posting an 18-13-28 K-D-A ratio. Cho “Rahel” Min-seong of South Korea helmed Sentinels’ effort, leading all players in kills by amassing a 23-14-20 K-D-A.
