FlyQuest was one of four teams to open the StarLadder Budapest Major with a pair of wins on Monday.

M80, Fluxo and NRG joined FlyQuest with 2-0 starts as the quartet moved into the Round 3 High matches in the opening stage of the $1.25 million tournament. Those four teams are now one win away from advancing to Stage 2.

Thirty-two teams are competing at the Budapest Major, which begins with three straight Swiss System stages. Sixteen teams compete in each stage; eight invited teams will start in Stage 2 and eight more get a bye into Stage 3. The top eight teams in each stage advance.

In each Swiss System stage, elimination and advancement matches are best-of-three and all others are best-of-one.

The tournament concludes with a single-elimination playoff stage Dec. 11-14. All matches are best-of-three until the grand final, which is best-of-five. The winner will take home $500,000.

On Monday, FlyQuest edged Legacy 13-10 on Train before taking down Imperial Esports 13-6 on Inferno. Australian Justin “jks” Savage led FlyQuest in the Round 2 match with 16 kills.

M80 got past B8 13-11 on Mirage before defeating PARIVISION 13-9, also on Mirage. Mason “Lake” Sanderson of the U.S. paced M80 with 18 kills against PARIVISION.

Fluxo followed a 13-10 win on Nuke over GamerLegion with a 13-9 result on Train vs. Fnatic. The all-Brazilian outfit was led by Andrei “arT” Piovezan’s 20 kills in Round 2.

NRG defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas 13-7 on Overpass before nipping FaZe Clan 13-10 on Dust II. Denmark’s Alexander “br0” Bro topped NRG in the latter match with 22 kills.

No teams are out of the running just yet, but the four 0-2 teams are in must-win mode and will start Wednesday in the Round 3 Low matches.
